1 million plastic bottles are produced every minute in the world and
550 million end up in the ocean every day.
Marine animals (fish, birds, mammals) do not differentiate between their food and the small pieces of plastic (our famous bottles that disintegrate into microparticles) found in the water.
The plastic they ingest clogs their stomachs, which ends up killing them because they cannot digest it.
99% of seabirds have plastic in their stomachs.
Plastic kills 1 million birds each year and more than 100,000 marine mammals.
In addition, the plastic eaten by marine animals ends up on human plates at the other end of the food chain.
Our beautiful island is unfortunately not spared by this scourge. Change begins with individual initiative.
Stop the mess and the proliferation of plastic.
